How To Make Christmas-Themed Window Stickers

With your computer and an inkjet printer, you can turn your favourite holiday snapshots into fun window clings. Just print each photo on clear window decal paper, following the paper manufacturer’s instructions.

Remove the backing from the printed photo and place it on your window for all to see and enjoy.

TIP Use a photocopier to transfer your child’s artwork onto the window decal to create a personal art display.

When making window stickers with photos

  • For the best results, use pictures that have very saturated colours and simple designs.
  • To add visual interest, create clings of different sizes as shown in the photo. Or experiment with border and corner designs to decorate just the window’s edges.
  • Simple designs can be cut out and enhanced by outlining them with dimensional paint for a stained-glass look. Apply the paint to the side that does not face the glass.
  • The window stickers can be reused. Just save the backing, and place photos back on it after Christmas and store them for next year.
